Sweden Producer Price Inflation Highest Since March 2019

Sweden’s producer prices increased to the highest level in nearly two years in April, figures from Statistics Sweden showed on Tuesday.

The producer price index grew 5.6 percent year-on-year in April, following a 3.8 percent rise in March. Prices rose for the third month in a row.

The latest inflation was the highest since March 2019, when prices was 6.3 percent.

Import prices increased 3.6 percent yearly in April and rose 2.2 percent from a month ago.

Export prices grew 3.4 percent annually in April and increased 3.3 percent from the previous month.

On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 1.7 percent in April.

Swedish house prices soar at fastest pace ever

  FRI, MAY 21, 2021 - 5:50 AM Stockholm SWEDEN'S housing market just set another record as ultra-low interest rates and a spike in demand fueled by the pandemic drive prices to levels never before seen in the country. Home prices rose 18.9 per cent in April from a year earlier, according to the Nasdaq OMX Valueguard-KTH Housing Index, HOX Sweden. That's the fastest pace since it started compiling data in 2005. On the month, prices rose 0.9 per cent, which is slightly slower than in March, but analysts were quick to warn that the dip is probably an aberration. "There are no clear signals of a further slowdown so far," Helena Bornevall, an economist at Handelsbanken, said in an email. "Instead, we see a continued strong momentum. The strong demand for housing is likely to further drive up prices in the near-term, in our view. The question is rather how much." New Target Cost for Skanska's Reconstruction of Slussen in Stockholm

Sweden — Skanska and the Development Office, City of Stockholm, have agreed on a new target cost for remaining and additional work on the reconstruction of Slussen, Stockholm, Sweden. The new target cost generates an order booking of about SEK 1.5 billion, which will be included in the order bookings for Skanska Sweden for the second quarter 2021. 2021-05-20 Additional work includes the foundation and construction of the building called Mälarterrassen, which is integrated into the city's facility. Planning and landscaping work are included. In addition, structural- and installation work, work with an art building and anchorages for a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge are also included. This means an extended contract period, partly due to archaeological excavations. Skanska's assignment at Slussen started in 2015.
